Genesis 24:51

Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master’s son’s wife, as the Lord hath spoken.

Cross-reference

In Gen 24:15, God answered the servant's prayer before he finished speaking. Here the family confirms: God has indeed been at work throughout.

Genesis 22:23 Historical context

Genesis 22:23 identifies Bethuel as Rebekah's father — the same Bethuel who here gives consent for her marriage to Isaac.

In 1 Samuel 25:40, David's servants similarly come to take Abigail as his wife — a parallel of servants acting as marriage agents for their master.

In 2 Sam 16:10, David accepts Shimei's cursing saying 'the LORD told him to.' Same logic: what God has permitted or ordained, humans shouldn't resist.
