Ezekiel 26:19

For thus saith the Lord God; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;

Cross-reference

Ezekiel 26:3 earlier used the sea’s waves as a metaphor for nations against Tyre; here it becomes literal flood.

In Ezekiel 27:26, the same destruction by great waters is described—Tyre's oarsmen bring her into deep waters where the east wind wrecks her.

In Ezekiel 27:34, Tyre is wrecked by the seas and sunk in the depths, echoing the deep covering Tyre in this verse.

Isaiah 8:7 Parallel

Isaiah 8:7 uses flood imagery for Assyria’s invasion; both depict divine judgment as overwhelming waters.
