Exodus 30:32

Upon man’s flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.

Cross-reference

Exodus 30:25 gives the recipe for this holy oil, making clear what composition is prohibited to imitate here.

Exodus 30:37 parallels this restriction for the holy incense — both are sacred mixtures not to be duplicated for common use.

Exodus 30:38 imposes a similar penalty for misusing incense, reinforcing the sacred boundary established here for the oil.

Leviticus 21:10 shows the high priest receiving the oil on his head, which is the very exception to the restriction here.
