Zechariah 5:5

Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.

Cross-reference

In Zechariah 5:1, the prophet also looks up at the angel's command, beginning the scroll vision — here the same angel introduces the basket vision.

Zechariah 1:9 introduces the same interpreting angel who speaks here — he guides the prophet through each vision.

Zechariah 2:3 shows this same angel leaving — a narrative continuity with his appearance here.

In Zechariah 1:19, the angel explains a vision; here he introduces a new one — both show his role as interpreter.

Zechariah 1:14 also records the angel's speech — but there he delivers a proclamation, while here he directs Zechariah to look.

In Zechariah 1:18, the prophet looks up and sees four horns — here again he is told to look up, continuing the series of night visions.

Ezekiel 8:5 Parallel

Ezekiel 8:5 has the Lord commanding Ezekiel to look and showing an idol — identical pattern to the angel's directive here to look at the basket.
