Psalm 22:16 introduces the 'dogs' that surround the psalmist — the same threat from which he pleads deliverance in v20.

Psalm 35:17 uses the same phrase 'rescue my soul... my darling from the lions' — a parallel plea for deliverance from enemies.

In Psalm 17:13, the psalmist similarly asks to deliver his soul from the wicked using the same 'sword' imagery.
