In Matthew 14:19, Jesus gives the same command to sit on the grass for the feeding of the 5000 — a parallel account of the same event.

In Luke 9:14, the same event specifies there were about five thousand men and groups of fifty, adding detail to the seating arrangement.

John 6:10 also mentions the green grass and the number five thousand, confirming the setting of this miracle.
