Judges 15:2

And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

Cross-reference

In Judges 14:16, Samson's wife accused him of hating her — the father here repeats that accusation as his reason for giving her away.

Judges 14:20 directly states that Samson's wife was given to his companion — the father confirms this action in 15:2.

Deuteronomy 22:13 deals with a husband hating his wife — the father's claim 'I thought you hated her' invokes that legal scenario.
