2 Chronicles 28:21 records Ahaz doing the same – taking temple treasures to bribe Assyria – but it did not help him, mirroring Asa's failed strategy.

2 Kings 12:18 describes Jehoash also taking temple treasures to bribe Hazael – another king using sacred wealth for political appeasement.

2 Kings 16:8 shows Ahaz again taking silver from the temple to bribe Assyria – the same pattern of robbing God's house for foreign alliances.

2 Kings 18:15 records Hezekiah giving all the silver from the temple to the Assyrian king – a similar act of using sacred treasures as tribute.

1 Kings 15:18 is the parallel account of this same event: Asa sending temple treasures to Ben-hadad, with nearly identical wording.
