Deuteronomy 25:17-19 commands Israel to blot out the memory of Amalek when they have rest; the Simeonites fulfill this by destroying the remnant.

Numbers 24:20 prophesies Amalek's utter destruction. The Simeonites here fulfill that prophecy against the remnant.

1 Samuel 15:8 notes Saul spared Agag and the best of the spoil, leaving a remnant that the Simeonites later eliminate.
